Interview with the Vampire

Based on Anne Rice's iconic novel, the series follows the epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told by Louis de Pointe du Lac to journalist Daniel Molloy. Set in the early 20th century, Louis struggles with the limitations of life as a Black man in New Orleans, leading him to enter a transformative and volatile relationship with the charismatic vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. Their bond is further complicated by the introduction of Claudia, a young girl they turn into a vampire, creating a dysfunctional and eternal family unit. As the narrative unfolds across decades, the series explores themes of trauma, memory, and the burden of existence. The relationship between Louis and Lestat is characterized by intense passion and toxic power dynamics, while the framing device of the interview in the present day reveals that the truth of their history is far more complex and unreliable than previously documented. The show delves deep into the gothic atmosphere of the source material while modernizing the character motivations and interpersonal conflicts.
