Jane the Virgin

Jane the Virgin follows Jane Villanueva, a hardworking, religious young Venezuelan-American woman living in Miami whose life is turned upside down when she is accidentally artificially inseminated during a routine checkup. Adding to the chaos, the biological specimen belongs to Rafael Solano, a former playboy, cancer survivor, and the current owner of the hotel where Jane works, who is also the brother of Jane's boss, Luisa, the doctor who made the medical error. Throughout the series, Jane must navigate the unexpected pregnancy while balancing her longtime aspirations of becoming a writer, her devoted yet complicated family dynamics with her vivacious mother Xiomara and devout grandmother Alba, and her complicated romantic feelings between Rafael and her police detective fiancé, Michael Cordero Jr. Heavily stylized as an American telenovela, the show combines heartfelt family drama, satirical comedy, and suspenseful twists narrated by a distinctive, omniscient Latin Lover narrator.
