Joseon X-Files

Set during the Joseon Dynasty, the series follows Kim Hyung-do, a rational and skeptical government official working for the Saheonbu (Office of the Inspector General). He is tasked with investigating bizarre, supernatural, and unexplained phenomena that the government attempts to suppress or hide from the public. Alongside Heo Yoon-yi, a brilliant and observant woman who assists him, Hyung-do delves into cases involving unidentified flying objects, strange creatures, and mysterious occurrences that defy the scientific understanding of the era. As the duo navigates the political intrigue of the royal court, they discover that these anomalies are often linked to powerful figures who wish to keep the truth buried. The series blends historical drama with science fiction elements, exploring the tension between traditional Confucian values and the unsettling reality of the unknown. Each episode presents a new mystery that challenges Hyung-do's worldview, forcing him to question the nature of reality and the secrets hidden within the history of Joseon.
