Just Dance

Set in Geoje, a city facing heavy economic downturn due to the collapse of the local shipbuilding industry, "Just Dance" follows the lives of a group of female students at Geoje Girls' Commercial High School. The girls join the school's dancesport club—known as "Tanpo-girs" (short for dancesport girls)—with dreams of winning a competition and escaping the dreary reality of their industrial hometown. Led by an unconventional yet deeply supportive teacher, the students navigate the typical angst of youth, familial pressures, academic stress, and the stigma of their future employment paths. As the girls practice day in and day out, their unique personalities and personal struggles unfold. Among them is Shi-eun, a blunt and cynical student who secretly dreams of escaping Geoje to become a documentary filmmaker, and Dong-seok, the dance teacher who genuinely cares for his students' well-being despite his own quirks. Together, the club becomes a sanctuary where these resilient young women learn to lean on one another, discover their self-worth, and find authentic joy through movement.
