Kaiju No. 8

In a world plagued by giant, terrifying creatures known as 'Kaiju,' the Japan Defense Force is tasked with neutralizing these threats to protect the civilian population. Kafka Hibino, a man who once dreamed of joining the Defense Force, finds himself working for a professional Kaiju-disposal crew instead. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when a small, parasitic creature enters his body, granting him the ability to transform into a powerful Kaiju himself. Now designated as 'Kaiju No. 8' by the authorities, Kafka must navigate the dangerous path of hiding his true identity while finally pursuing his lifelong dream of joining the Defense Force. Alongside his ambitious younger childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, and his new recruit peers, Kafka struggles to balance his secret powers with the rigorous training required to become an elite soldier, all while the threat of even more intelligent and deadly Kaiju looms over Japan.
