Kaze no Matasaburo

Based on the beloved classic short story by Kenji Miyazawa, 'Kaze no Matasaburo' tells the enchanting and somewhat eerie tale of a young boy named Saburo who suddenly transfers to a rural elementary school in the mountains of Iwate Prefecture. With his strange hair, unusual dialect, and mysterious origins, the local children quickly come to believe that he might actually be Matasaburo, the legendary spirit of the wind. As the children play, explore the sweeping grasslands, and navigate the everyday dynamics of a small, isolated community, a sense of wonder and magical realism permeates their daily lives. However, just as quickly as he appeared, Saburo vanishes without a trace, leaving the villagers and his classmates to wonder if he was ever truly a human boy or merely a fleeting autumn gale passing through the valley.
