La source is a French television drama series that follows the life of Marie Vasseur, a young woman who leads a seemingly ordinary life as a student and part-time worker. Her world is turned upside down when she is approached by the DGSI (General Directorate for Internal Security) and coerced into becoming an informant. Tasked with infiltrating the inner circle of a powerful family, Marie must navigate a dangerous web of espionage, betrayal, and moral ambiguity. As Marie delves deeper into the lives of her targets, she finds herself caught between her duty to the state and her growing personal attachments. The series explores themes of identity, the cost of loyalty, and the psychological toll of living a double life. With high stakes and constant surveillance, Marie must constantly outmaneuver those around her to protect her secrets and survive the treacherous game she has been forced to play.
