Legend of the Galactic Heroes

Set in a distant future humanity has expanded into space, the galaxy is locked in an endless, devastating war between two massive interstellar states: the autocratic Galactic Empire and the corrupt democratic Free Planets Alliance. The narrative primarily focuses on two brilliant masterminds who rise through the ranks of their respective militaries: Reinhard von Lohengramm, a military genius striving to overthrow the decadent golden-bough dynasty and unite the galaxy, and Yang Wen-li, a brilliant historian and tactical tactician who fights not for glory, but to protect democratic ideals despite his cynicism toward the government he serves. As these two titans clash in grand fleets and intricate political battlegrounds, the series explores themes of philosophy, history, leadership, and the high cost of war.
