Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!

Yuta Togashi is a high school freshman who is desperately trying to put his embarrassing middle school past behind him, a period where he suffered from 'chūnibyo'—an adolescent syndrome causing him to believe he possessed supernatural powers and the moniker 'Dark Flame Master'. Unfortunately for Yuta, Rikka Takanashi, an eccentric classmate who lives in his apartment building, discovers his secret and is deeply fascinated by it. Rikka still suffers from full-blown chūnibyo, imagining herself to be 'The Eye of the Wicked Lord.' As Rikka persistently inserts herself into Yuta's life, she drags along a colorful cast of peers, including her former-delusional self-proclaimed servant Sanae Dekomori, the highly athletic Kumin Tsuyuri, and Yuta's sensible childhood friend Shinka Nibutani. Together, the group navigates the trials and tribulations of adolescence, club activities, and the creeping dread of reality. Throughout the series, Yuta and Rikka's relationship deepens from reluctant companionship into a sweet, innocent romance. The core conflict explores the painful transition from childhood fantasy to adult reality, examining how people cope with trauma, loneliness, and the fear of social embarrassment by retreating into elaborate alternate worlds, ultimately learning to accept themselves and each other.
