Matte Kare

Set in a quiet, atmospheric coastal town in Japan, 'Matte Kare' follows the life of Haruto, a man who works as a restorer of antique clocks. He lives a solitary existence, meticulously fixing timepieces that have long since stopped, until he encounters a mysterious woman named Emi who claims to be searching for a specific sound from her childhood. As they spend time together, the series delves into the philosophical weight of waiting and the bittersweet nature of letting go. The narrative unfolds as a slow-burn drama, weaving together the personal histories of the town's residents. Each episode focuses on a different clock brought to Haruto's shop, serving as a catalyst for exploring themes of grief, unrequited love, and the passage of time. As the seasons change, Haruto and Emi must confront their own pasts, leading to a poignant realization about the moments we choose to hold onto and the ones we must allow to wither away.
