Mercy is an American medical drama series that follows the lives of three nurses at Mercy Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. The series centers on Veronica Callahan, a nurse who has recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. She brings her military-honed expertise and a hardened perspective to the civilian medical world, often clashing with the hospital's bureaucracy and her colleagues while struggling with her own post-traumatic stress and a complicated personal life. Alongside Veronica are her best friends and fellow nurses, Sonia Jimenez and Chloe Payne. Sonia is a dedicated nurse who finds herself caught in a difficult romantic entanglement, while Chloe is a naive, idealistic nursing school graduate who must quickly learn the harsh realities of the profession. Together, the trio navigates the high-stakes environment of the emergency room, dealing with complex patient cases, hospital politics, and the personal dramas that define their lives outside the ward.
