Touka Kuroitsu is an assistant researcher in the Monster Development Department of Agastyama, a nefarious secret society bent on world domination. However, her daily life is far from glamorous villainy. Instead of crafting terrifying beasts of destruction, Kuroitsu finds herself constantly firefighting unreasonable demands from her superiors, navigating rigid corporate bureaucracy, and dealing with budget cuts—all while trying to design monsters that satisfy the whimsical requests of the organization's executives within impossible deadlines. Alongside her brooding supervisor Professor Sadamitsu and her quirky colleagues, Kuroitsu must also contend with the meddling 'Magical Girl' superheroes who thwart their creations, leading to awkward compromises in monster design. This workplace comedy brilliantly flips the classic superhero-versus-villain trope on its head by viewing the eternal struggle between good and evil through the brutally realistic and humorous lens of Japanese corporate work culture.
