Set 300 years after a great conflict known as the 'Calamity War,' the story follows a group of child soldiers from the Martian base of Chryse. Led by Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka, these orphans form a private security company called 'Chryse Guard Security' (CGS) to escape their status as disposable labor. When they are tasked with protecting Kudelia Aina Bernstein, a young noblewoman seeking independence for Mars from Earth's governing body, the Gjallarhorn, they find themselves caught in a brutal political conspiracy. As the conflict escalates, the orphans must rely on the 'Gundam Barbatos,' a relic from the Calamity War, to survive. The series explores themes of child exploitation, the harsh realities of war, and the desperate struggle for self-determination. Unlike traditional Gundam series, Iron-Blooded Orphans focuses heavily on the gritty, visceral nature of combat and the complex, often tragic bonds formed between the members of the Tekkadan organization as they fight to carve out a future for themselves in a world that views them as nothing more than expendable tools.
