Overview

Set in the Cosmic Era, the story follows the escalating conflict between the Naturals, who live on Earth, and the Coordinators, genetically enhanced humans living in space colonies known as PLANTs. The fragile peace is shattered when the Earth Alliance's secret mobile suit project is attacked by ZAFT forces at the neutral colony of Heliopolis. Kira Yamato, a young Coordinator student, is thrust into the war when he is forced to pilot the prototype Strike Gundam to protect his friends. As the war intensifies, Kira finds himself torn between his loyalty to his friends and his heritage as a Coordinator. He eventually joins the crew of the Archangel, a prototype battleship, as they attempt to navigate the treacherous political landscape and the brutal reality of war. Alongside his childhood friend-turned-rival Athrun Zala, Kira must confront the ideologies of both sides, leading to a complex exploration of prejudice, the morality of war, and the search for peace in a world divided by genetic destiny.
