Monroe

Monroe is a British medical drama television series that follows the professional and personal lives of Gabriel Monroe, a brilliant and eccentric neurosurgeon working at St Richard's Hospital in Leeds, and his colleagues. The series delves into the high-pressure, emotionally demanding world of neurosurgery, examining intricate medical cases alongside the complex relationships between doctors, nurses, and their patients. At the center of the series is Gabriel Monroe himself—a man with extraordinary surgical talent matched only by his turbulent personal life. As he navigates the delicate balance of saving lives and dealing with his own failing marriage and family dynamics, Monroe often clashes with his colleagues, including his rival, heart surgeon Alistair Gillespie, and the hospital's anaesthetist and his estranged wife, Anna Monroe. The show balances dark medical realism with sharp wit and poignant human drama.
