Motokare Mania follows the life of Yurika Nanba, a 27-year-old office worker who is unable to move on from her ex-boyfriend, Makoto Saito, whom she dated five years ago. Yurika spends her days obsessing over memories of him, even going so far as to talk to him in her head as a coping mechanism. Her life takes a complicated turn when she starts a new job and discovers that Makoto is one of her new coworkers. As Yurika attempts to navigate her professional life while dealing with the emotional baggage of her past, she finds herself caught in a web of awkward encounters and romantic confusion.
