Mozart in the Jungle

Based on Blair Tindall's memoir 'Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music', the series goes behind the curtain at the New York Symphony, where artistic dedication and creativity collide with rivalries, bedlam, and romance. The story primarily follows Hailey Rutledge, a talented young oboist trying to make her way in the cutthroat world of professional classical music, and Rodrigo De Souza, the eccentric, visionary, and fiercely passionate new conductor whose unorthodox methods both revitalize and destabilize the orchestra. Throughout its run, the series explores the triumphs and struggles of orchestral life, management politics, and the personal relationships of the musicians. From the hallowed halls of New York to international tours in Venice, Mexico, and Japan, Rodrigo and Hailey navigate their complex professional and romantic connection while fighting to keep classical music vibrant and relevant for a modern audience.
