Mr. Belvedere

Mr. Belvedere is an American sitcom that follows the life of Lynn Aloysius Belvedere, a highly cultured and sophisticated British butler who moves to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to work for the Owens family. The family consists of sportswriter George Owens, his wife Marsha, and their three children: Kevin, Heather, and Wesley. The series centers on the cultural clash between the refined, intellectual Mr. Belvedere and the chaotic, middle-class American lifestyle of the Owens family. Throughout the series, Mr. Belvedere serves as a mentor and father figure, often using his dry wit and worldly wisdom to help the family navigate various social and personal dilemmas. While the show frequently addresses lighthearted domestic mishaps, it also gained recognition for tackling serious social issues of the 1980s, including racism, AIDS, and child abuse, often concluding with Mr. Belvedere delivering a poignant summary of the episode's moral lesson in his personal journal.
