Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem

Set in the 17th century, Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem is the sweeping historical epic sequel to the internationally acclaimed 'Muhteşem Yüzyıl' (Magnificent Century). The series chronicles the tumultuous life of Anastasia, a young Greek girl captured from the island of Chios and gifted to the Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I's harem. Renamed Kösem, she transforms from an innocent captive into one of the most powerful, influential, and formidable female rulers in Ottoman history, effectively steering the empire through an era known as the Sultanate of Women. Spanning decades, the narrative explores the brutal realities of imperial succession, relentless palace intrigues, and the devastating personal sacrifices required to preserve a dynasty. As Kösem rises through the ranks to become the mother of sultans and regnant Valide Sultan, she must navigate treacherous political landscapes, fierce rivalries with grand viziers and mothers of rival heirs, and the constant threat of internal rebellions and military coups.
