My Big Fat Greek Life

My Big Fat Greek Life is a television sitcom that serves as a direct continuation of the hit 2002 film My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The series follows Nia Vardalos as Nia Portokalos, a Greek-American woman navigating married life with her non-Greek husband, Thomas Miller, played by Steven Eckholdt. The couple resides in Chicago, where they must constantly balance their own relationship with the overwhelming, eccentric, and deeply involved members of Nia's extended Greek family. The show centers on the comedic friction caused by the clash of cultures and the intrusive nature of Nia's parents, Gus and Maria, who struggle to accept their son-in-law's 'outsider' status. Each episode explores the humorous attempts of the Portokalos family to impose their traditions, food, and unsolicited advice upon the newlyweds, testing the patience of Thomas and the loyalty of Nia as they try to establish their own identity as a married couple.
