Series Overview

Navillera follows the poignant and inspiring journey of Shim Deok-chul, a 70-year-old retired mailman who decides to pursue his lifelong dream of learning ballet despite the disapproval of his family and the harsh realities of aging. Along the way, he crosses paths with Lee Chae-rok, a talented but disillusioned 23-year-old ballet dancer who is struggling to find motivation and direction in his own life. As the two form an unlikely bond, they become each other's mentors and support systems. Deok-chul brings a sense of wonder and persistence to Chae-rok's life, while Chae-rok helps Deok-chul navigate the physical and emotional challenges of his training. The series explores themes of intergenerational friendship, the courage to chase one's passions regardless of age, and the beauty of human connection in the face of adversity, particularly as Deok-chul begins to grapple with the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.
