Set in the futuristic, high-tech kingdom of Knighton, the story follows five young knights—Clay Moorington, Macy Halbert, Lance Richmond, Aaron Fox, and Axl—who are tasked with protecting the realm from the villainous Jestro and his army of lava monsters. Assisted by the digital wizard Merlok 2.0, the knights utilize 'Nexo Powers'—magical shields that can be scanned into their gear to provide unique abilities and upgrades in battle. As the series progresses, the conflict evolves from simple skirmishes against Jestro to larger threats involving the Book of Monsters and the corruption of the kingdom's technology. The knights must balance their training at the Knight's Academy with the responsibility of defending the realm, learning the true meaning of chivalry and teamwork in a world where magic and advanced technology collide.
