Overview

Set in 6th-century China during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the story follows Mei Changsu, a brilliant strategist who returns to the capital of the Liang Dynasty after twelve years of exile. Formerly known as Lin Shu, the sole survivor of a betrayed army, he hides his true identity and fragile health behind a scholarly facade to navigate the treacherous political landscape of the imperial court. Mei Changsu orchestrates a meticulous, long-term plan to clear the name of his family and the Chiyan Army, who were framed for treason. By manipulating the power struggle between the Crown Prince and Prince Yu, he elevates the virtuous Prince Jing to the throne, all while seeking justice for the past and protecting those he loves from the corruption that destroyed his life.
