Set against the backdrop of the tumultuous Donghak Peasant Revolution of 1894, "Nokdu Flower" tells the gripping story of two half-brothers born to the same wealthy father in Jeonju, yet separated by their mother's social status. Baek Yi-hyun, the legitimate son, receives a privileged education and becomes an elite government official, while Baek Yi-kang, the illegitimate older son, is treated as a servant and grows up harboring deep resentment. As societal upheaval forces the peasant population to rise against corrupt officials and foreign intervention, the brothers find themselves standing on opposite sides of history—Yi-kang joining the peasant army as a rebel, and Yi-hyun fighting to suppress the rebellion. Their harrowing journey explores the agonizing conflict of blood ties, love, survival, and the fight for justice in a collapsing feudal society.
