Odoru Daisaisen

Bayside Shakedown follows the life of Shunsaku Aoshima, a former salaryman who decides to quit his corporate job to become a police officer. He is assigned to the Wangan Police Station in the Tokyo Bay area, a precinct known for its bureaucratic inefficiency and lack of real police work. Aoshima quickly realizes that the reality of police life is far from the heroic portrayals in television dramas, as he must navigate office politics, red tape, and the disconnect between the elite headquarters and the local precinct. As the series progresses, Aoshima forms an unlikely bond with his colleagues, including the ambitious and pragmatic Sumire Onda and the elite, cold-hearted careerist Shinji Muroi. Together, they tackle various criminal cases while challenging the rigid, hierarchical structure of the Japanese police force. The show is celebrated for its satirical take on corporate culture and its grounded, humanistic approach to the procedural genre, blending comedy, drama, and suspense.
