Ojakgyo Family

Ojakgyo Family follows the lives of the Hwang family, who run the Ojakgyo farm on the outskirts of Seoul. The patriarch Hwang Chang-sik and his devoted wife Park Bok-ja live with their four very different sons: Tae-shik, Tae-bum, Tae-hee, and Tae-pil. Their peaceful lives are upended when Baek Ja-eun, a proud and spoiled college student whose father originally owned the land, suddenly appears to reclaim the property. As Ja-eun is forced to live on the farm due to unexpected family misfortunes, she clashes constantly with the sharp-tongued yet deeply responsible third son, Hwang Tae-hee, a cynical police detective. Over time, the household transforms from a battleground of resentments into a genuine refuge. The series weaves together themes of forgiveness, resilience, and romance as each brother navigates their own career struggles, family expectations, and unexpected love stories. The drama was a massive ratings hit in South Korea, praised for its grounded portrayal of family dynamics, strong character development, and the undeniable chemistry between its ensemble cast. It ultimately highlights how shared hardships can bridge generational divides and forge unbreakable bonds among people who begin as strangers.
