Set in the 1990s, the story follows Lin Zhen-xin, an ordinary and clumsy high school girl who harbors a crush on the school's most popular boy, Ouyang Fei-fan. After receiving a chain letter, she inadvertently forms an unlikely alliance with the school's notorious delinquent, Hsu Tai-yu, who is also trying to win the heart of the school's beauty, Tao Min-min. As the two team up to sabotage their respective crushes' budding romance, they find themselves growing closer through shared secrets and the trials of adolescence. As they navigate the pressures of academic expectations, friendship, and the bittersweet nature of first love, Zhen-xin and Tai-yu undergo significant personal transformations. The film beautifully captures the nostalgia of the 90s, complete with pop culture references and the innocence of youth, ultimately exploring how the people we meet during our formative years shape the adults we eventually become.
