Palace

Set in an alternate 21st-century universe where Korea maintains its imperial monarchy, 'Palace' follows the story of an ordinary high school art student, Chae Gyeong, who finds herself betrothed to the aloof and burdened Crown Prince Lee Shin due to a grandfatherly pact. Navigating the rigid, suffocating traditions of the royal court, Gyeong struggles to fit in while dealing with palace intrigue, the cold demeanor of her new husband, and the looming return of the charismatic Prince Yul, who harbors his own claims to both the throne and Gyeong's affections. As the young royals grapple with duty versus personal desire, hidden scandals from the past emerge to threaten the stability of the imperial family. Gyeong's bright, resilient spirit gradually thaws the Prince's heart, transforming a strictly political union into a genuine emotional romance. However, external pressures, media scrutiny, and the strict hierarchy of the palace constantly test their bond, forcing them to decide whether they can forge their own happiness within the gilded cage of the monarchy.
