Set in the French capital at the turn of the 20th century, 'Paris Police 1900' plunges viewers into a gritty and politically volatile era following the death of President Félix Faure. Amidst rampant anti-Semitism, rising nationalism, and the looming threat of a coup d'état, a gruesome discovery is made: a mutilated female corpse stuffed in a suitcase floating in the Seine. The investigation is thrust upon Antoine Jouin, an ambitious young police inspector whose pursuit of the truth intersects with the lives of other historical and fictional figures. These include Meg Steinheil, the charismatic courtesan entangled in the late president's scandals; Louis Lépine, the brilliant and ruthless Prefect of Police recalled from retirement to restore order; and Jeanne Chauvin, a pioneering female law graduate fighting for her right to practice. Together, they navigate a labyrinth of corruption, police brutality, and conspiracy that threatens to tear the Third Republic apart.
