Patriot

Patriot follows the complicated life of intelligence officer John Tavner, whose latest assignment is to prevent Iran from going nuclear. To do so, he must forgo all official protocols and assume a non-official cover as a mid-level employee at a piping firm in Milwaukee. The job requires him to navigate the mundane, soul-crushing bureaucracy of corporate life while simultaneously managing the high-stakes, dangerous realities of international espionage. As John struggles with the psychological toll of his work and the trauma of past missions, he is constantly hindered by his own mistakes, the interference of his well-meaning but overbearing father, and a persistent, tenacious detective who begins to piece together his trail of chaos. The series is known for its dark, dry humor, melancholic tone, and its unique exploration of the human cost of duty, often manifesting through John's penchant for performing folk songs that reveal his inner turmoil.
