Set in the year 2040, the series follows Kit Walker, a college student who discovers he is the 24th Phantom, the latest in a long line of crime-fighters dedicated to protecting the world. In a dystopian future where the environment has been devastated by the 'Maximum Destruction' and society is controlled by the corrupt Maximum Inc., Kit must balance his ordinary life with his duty to uphold the legacy of the Ghost Who Walks. Guided by the holographic records of his ancestors and aided by a small team of allies, including his mentor Guran and the tech-savvy Sagan Cruz, Kit fights to dismantle the plans of Maximum Inc. and its leader, Rebecca Madison. The series is noted for its complex, serialized storytelling, environmental themes, and distinctive animation style, blending traditional cel animation with early 3D computer-generated imagery.
