PJ

PJ is a groundbreaking animated adult sitcom that offers a raw, satirical, and often poignant look at life within a fictional urban housing project known as the Hilton-Jacobs Projects. The series centers on Thurgood Stubbs, the dedicated and often beleaguered chief superintendent of the building, who strives to maintain order and improve the living conditions for his eccentric neighbors despite constant bureaucratic hurdles and the chaotic nature of his community. Throughout the series, the show balances sharp social commentary with character-driven humor. Thurgood’s interactions with his wife Muriel, his neighbors, and the various colorful residents highlight the struggles of working-class life, the importance of community bonds, and the resilience required to navigate systemic challenges. It remains a cult classic for its unique visual style and its unflinching portrayal of urban life in the late 1990s.
