Ray Donovan works as a "fixer" for the powerful law firm Goldman & Drexler, smoothing over the volatile, illicit, and high-stakes problems of Los Angeles's celebrities, athletes, and business moguls. While Ray is exceptionally skilled at handling everyone else's crises, his own life spirals out of control when his unpredictable and charismatic father, Mickey Donovan, is unexpectedly released from prison. The sudden return of Mickey triggers a chain of violent conflicts, long-buried family secrets, and deep psychological trauma that threaten to destroy Ray's wife, Abby, and their two children. Spanning seven intense seasons, the series explores the brutal intersection of crime, family loyalty, and redemption. As Ray navigates the treacherous underworld of Los Angeles and later New York City, he must constantly balance his desperate attempts to protect his dysfunctional siblings—Terry, Bunchy, and Bridget—with his own ruthless methods of survival. Culminating in a feature-length wrap-up film, "Ray Donovan" is a gritty, character-driven crime drama about a man trying to outrun his past while becoming the very monster he fears.
