Rocko's Modern Life

Rocko's Modern Life follows the surreal, anxiety-laden everyday adventures of Rocko, an anthropomorphic Australian wallaby who has moved to the United States. Living in the fictional city of O-Town, Rocko navigates the absurdities, indignities, and anxieties of modern adulthood alongside his eccentric best friends: Heffer Wolfe, a gluttonous steer raised by wolves, and Filburt Turtle, a neurotic, hypochondriac turtle. Together with his faithful, loyal dog Spunky and his irritable neighbors, the Bigheads, Rocko deals with bizarre jobs, consumerism, and the unpredictable nature of living in a 1990s cartoon world. Created by Joe Murray, the series is celebrated for its satirical edge, clever adult humor disguised as children's programming, and distinct, squash-and-stretch animation style. It pushed the boundaries of standard Saturday morning cartoons by tackling social satire, awkward milestones of growing up, and absurd slapstick humor, leaving a massive legacy on the animators who went on to create other iconic 90s and 2000s Nicktoons.
