Based on the beloved Johnny Marks song and the book by Robert L. May, this timeless 1964 stop-motion animated television special tells the story of Rudolph, a young reindeer born with a glowing red nose. Mocked and ostracized by his peers and even discouraged by his father, Donner, Rudolph runs away from the North Pole. Along the way, he befriends Hermey, an elf who wants to be a dentist rather than make toys, and together they embark on a journey of self-discovery. Eventually stumbling upon the Island of Misfit Toys, Rudolph and Hermey encounter a land full of unwanted and unusual toys seeking homes. When a massive snowstorm threatens Christmas Eve, threatening Santa's ability to fly his sleigh, Rudolph's unique glowing nose becomes the key to saving the holiday. He returns to the North Pole a hero, teaching everyone that what makes you different can also make you special.
