Running Investigators follows a team of investigators working for the Human Rights Commission of Korea. Unlike traditional detectives who focus on criminal evidence, this team is tasked with uncovering the truth behind human rights violations, often navigating the gray areas between law, morality, and institutional power. The series explores the complex lives of victims and perpetrators, emphasizing that human rights are not just abstract concepts but tangible issues that affect real people. The narrative centers on Han Yoon-seo, a cold and rational investigator who prioritizes facts over emotions, and Bae Hong-tae, a former prosecutor with a strong sense of justice who often acts on his instincts. Together, they clash over their differing methodologies while tackling cases involving workplace abuse, discrimination, and systemic corruption. As they delve deeper into each case, they are forced to confront their own biases and the limitations of the justice system in protecting the vulnerable.
