Rush

Dr. William P. Rush is a brilliant former emergency room physician who operates an exclusive, discreet, cash-only concierge medical service in Los Angeles. Disillusioned with the institutional politics and constraints of traditional hospital medicine, Rush caters directly to the rich, famous, and corrupt, treating sensitive, scandalous, and often illegal medical crises without asking questions or filing reports—as long as his patients can pay upfront in cold, hard cash. Beneath his charming exterior, sharp diagnostic intuition, and opulent lifestyle lies a man drowning in his own vices. Rush harbors a severe addiction to cocaine, alcohol, and adrenaline, frequently putting him in perilous proximity to dangerous fixers, drug dealers, and morally compromised power players. His high-wire existence is kept from total collapse only through the efforts of Eve Parker, his fiercely capable assistant, and his best friend, Dr. Alex Burke, an upright family man working in an actual hospital. Throughout the series, Rush is forced to confront the wreckage of his personal life, particularly his estrangement from his prominent physician father and lingering feelings for his former flame, Sarah Peterson. As the boundaries between his professional duties and personal demons blur, Rush faces mounting pressure to decide whether he can sustain his hedonistic, off-the-grid existence or finally seek redemption before his lifestyle destroys him.

He doesn't practice medicine. He lives it.
