Serangoon Road

Set in 1960s Singapore, a time of political upheaval and social transition, the series follows Sam Callaghan, an Australian expatriate and former soldier who is still haunted by his experiences during the Malayan Emergency. After the mysterious murder of his neighbor, Sam finds himself drawn into the world of Patricia Cheng, a local woman who runs a private detective agency. Together, they navigate the complex, multicultural landscape of post-colonial Singapore, dealing with local gangs, corrupt officials, and the looming threat of communism. As Sam and Patricia take on various cases, they uncover a web of conspiracy that reaches into the highest levels of government and international intelligence. The series masterfully blends noir-style detective work with historical drama, capturing the vibrant, dangerous atmosphere of a city on the brink of independence. Through their investigations, the duo must confront their own pasts while fighting to maintain justice in a society where the lines between right and wrong are constantly blurred.
