Shock Waves

Shock Waves is a Swiss anthology drama series that explores the dark and complex psychological landscapes of individuals involved in real-life criminal cases. Each episode or mini-arc focuses on a different narrative, dissecting the motivations, societal pressures, and tragic circumstances that lead ordinary people to commit extraordinary acts of violence or find themselves at the center of national scandals. By blending investigative tension with deep character studies, the series examines the ripple effects of trauma and the fragility of the human psyche. It avoids sensationalism, instead opting for a somber, realistic approach that challenges the audience to look beyond the headlines and consider the systemic and personal failures that contribute to these harrowing events.
