Shut Eye is a dark comedy-drama that centers on Charlie Haverford, a failed magician turned storefront psychic in Los Angeles. Charlie runs a chain of fortune-telling parlors for the Romani crime syndicate, living a life built on manipulation, cold reading, and petty scams. His world is upended when a violent encounter with a client's boyfriend leaves him with a head injury that causes him to experience genuine, inexplicable psychic visions, forcing him to question his own reality and the nature of his grift. As Charlie begins to see the truth behind the lies he tells, he attempts to break free from the control of the Fonso family, the ruthless crime syndicate that oversees his operations. Alongside his wife, Linda, who is equally ambitious and desperate to climb the social ladder, Charlie navigates a dangerous web of deception, power struggles, and psychological warfare. The series explores themes of belief, family loyalty, and the blurred lines between performance and reality in the underbelly of Southern California.
