Sliders

Sliders follows a brilliant physics graduate student named Quinn Mallory, who inadvertently discovers a way to travel between parallel universes using a device he calls a "timer." Accompanied by his physics professor, Arturo, his longtime friend Wade Welles, and an accidental tagalong, soul singer Rembrandt "Crying Man" Brown, Quinn tests the device, only to find themselves lost in the multiverse with the coordinates to their home Earth erased. To return home, the group must "slide" from one parallel Earth to another every time the timer reaches zero, facing vastly different versions of history, society, and technology on each world. Along the way, they must evade the military, oppressive regimes, and dangerous planetary anomalies, all while struggling to survive and hoping the next slide will finally take them back to San Francisco.
