Soldiers Sortie follows the journey of Xu Sanduo, a timid and clumsy rural boy who joins the People's Liberation Army. Initially mocked by his peers and superiors for his lack of physical prowess and social awkwardness, Xu Sanduo persists through sheer determination and a simple, unwavering belief in doing 'meaningful things.' His journey takes him from a remote border outpost to the elite Special Forces unit, A-Team, where he learns the true meaning of camaraderie, sacrifice, and military discipline. As the series progresses, it explores the complex dynamics of brotherhood within the military. Through his interactions with mentors like Shi Jin and rivals-turned-friends like Cheng Cai, Xu Sanduo evolves from a burden to his squad into a highly capable soldier. The drama is widely celebrated for its realistic portrayal of military life and its profound philosophical exploration of what it means to be a soldier in modern society.
