Solsidan

Solsidan is a popular Swedish comedy series that centers on the lives of three couples living in the affluent suburb of Saltsjöbaden, located just outside Stockholm. The show primarily follows Alex and Anna, a couple who move into Alex's childhood home in Solsidan to start a family, only to find themselves navigating the complexities of suburban life, social expectations, and the quirks of their neighbors. The series masterfully satirizes the upper-middle-class lifestyle, focusing on the petty conflicts, social anxieties, and comedic misunderstandings that arise between the main characters. Alongside Alex and Anna, the show features the eccentric and stingy Ove Sundberg and his wife Anette, as well as Alex's childhood friend Fredde and his wife Mickan, who represent the pinnacle of material success and social posturing. Through its observational humor, Solsidan explores themes of friendship, parenthood, and the constant struggle to maintain appearances in a status-conscious environment.
