State of Divinity, based on the classic wuxia novel by Jin Yong, follows Linghu Chong, a free-spirited and talented swordsman from the righteous Mount Hua Sect. As he navigates the treacherous landscape of the martial arts world, he becomes entangled in the power struggles between various sects vying for the legendary 'Sunflower Manual' and the 'Dugu Nine Swords'. Along the way, he is framed for crimes he did not commit and expelled from his sect, forcing him to wander the world alone. Throughout his journey, Linghu Chong encounters Ren Yingying, the daughter of the leader of the Sun Moon Holy Sect, and develops a deep bond with her despite their opposing factions. As he uncovers the dark secrets and hypocrisy of those claiming to be righteous, he must choose between adhering to rigid traditional codes or following his own moral compass. The series is a profound exploration of loyalty, identity, and the corrupting nature of absolute power.
