"Stay by My Side" is a Taiwanese Boys' Love (BL) romance series that follows Gu Bu Yu, an ordinary university student who is terrified of ghosts and supernatural noises. To cope with his phobia, he discovers that the only thing that brings him peace is the sound of his roommate Jiang Chi's heartbeat and voice. Jiang Chi, a confident and pragmatic basketball player, initially finds Bu Yu's clingy and unusual attachment baffling, but soon begins to care deeply for him. As the two spend more time together, their living arrangement blurs the boundaries of personal space, transforming from awkward reluctant roommates into something much more intimate. The main conflict revolves around Bu Yu's struggle to accept his changing feelings and the fear of vulnerability, while Jiang Chi navigates how to gently break down Bu Yu's emotional walls. Through shared late-night study sessions, dormitory mishaps, and quiet moments of reassurance, the pair discover a profound bond that transcends mere friendship.
