Sunflower

Sunflower follows the journey of Tae-sik, a man who returns to his hometown after serving a long prison sentence for a violent crime. Haunted by his past and the guilt of his actions, he seeks refuge with a woman who lost her son in the very incident that sent him to prison. Despite the initial hostility from the community and the woman's daughter, Tae-sik attempts to turn his life around by embracing a peaceful existence and working at a local restaurant. As Tae-sik tries to build a new life, he finds himself caught in the crosshairs of local gangsters and corrupt developers who threaten the livelihood of his newfound family. The series explores themes of atonement, the complexity of human nature, and the struggle to break free from the cycles of violence that define one's past. It is a poignant look at whether a person can truly change when the world refuses to let them forget their mistakes.
