The Blacklist follows Raymond 'Red' Reddington, a high-profile former U.S. Navy intelligence officer turned world-renowned criminal who voluntarily surrenders to the FBI. He offers to help the bureau capture a list of dangerous criminals and terrorists—the 'Blacklist'—on the condition that he works exclusively with Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler with whom he appears to have a mysterious, long-standing connection. As the series progresses, the dynamic between Reddington and Keen evolves into a complex web of secrets, betrayal, and moral ambiguity. The show explores the blurred lines between justice and criminality, as Reddington manipulates the FBI to serve his own hidden agenda while simultaneously protecting Elizabeth from the dangerous forces of his past. The narrative is driven by the central mystery of Reddington's true identity and his obsession with Elizabeth's origins.
