Cinema & TelevisionSet in late 1960s Spain under the Francoist dictatorship, 'The Borderline Case' traces the radical transformation of a group of young Basque nationalists into the founding members of ETA. As political oppression intensifies and peaceful dissent is violently suppressed, figures like Txabi Etxebarrieta grapple with moral limits, ultimately committing the acts of violence that would change the course of Spanish history forever. The series explores the psychological descent and ideological hardening of its characters, contrasting the idealistic fervor of the youth with the calculated, ruthless response of the state's security apparatus. Inspector Melitón Manzanas stands on the opposing side, embodying the unyielding and brutal arm of the regime, leading to an inevitable, tragic collision course between the two factions that defined a dark era.
