The Bridge is a gritty crime drama that begins when a body is discovered on the exact center of the bridge connecting El Paso, Texas, and Juárez, Mexico. Because the body is draped over the border line, the investigation falls under the joint jurisdiction of both the United States and Mexico, forcing two detectives with vastly different personalities and methods to work together to track down a serial killer who uses the border as his personal playground. Detective Sonya Cross of the El Paso Police Department, who exhibits traits of Asperger's syndrome, is paired with Marco Ruiz, a dedicated and charismatic homicide detective from the Chihuahua State Police. As they navigate the complex cultural, political, and social tensions of the border region, they uncover a sprawling conspiracy involving human trafficking, drug cartels, and systemic corruption that threatens both their lives and the safety of their respective communities.
