The Campbells

Set in the 18th century, The Campbells follows the life of James Campbell, a Scottish doctor who emigrates to the Canadian frontier with his three children—Neil, Emma, and John—following the death of his wife. The series chronicles their arduous journey as they attempt to build a new life in the rugged, unforgiving landscape of Upper Canada, while navigating the political tensions of the era and the complexities of colonial life. As the family establishes their homestead, they face constant challenges, including harsh weather, isolation, and the looming threat of the American Revolutionary War. James uses his medical skills to serve the local community, often finding himself caught between the interests of the British authorities and the local settlers, while his children grow up amidst the shifting loyalties and cultural clashes of a developing nation.
